I obtained my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University

Southeast in May of 2000. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Indiana

University Southeast where I graduated in 1990.

I am a 1985 graduate of New Albany High

School.

Experience

have over 40 years life experience, as I turned 40 in March of 2007, and I

have been

serving clients in the

field of

counseling

for

over

nine

years. I completed my

practicum

d internship at a local Pastoral Counseling Agency as well as my post

graduate

supervision and training required for

icensure in the State of Indiana. I worked

for this

agency for a total of six years before going into private practice. My experience

during my

days at the Pastoral Counseling Agency focused

development in the areas of

Attention

Deficit-Hyper Activity Disorder, spirituality and faith in counseling, mood

disorders, anxiety

disorders, and marriage and family counseling

In addition, during this

time I contracted with

a local middle school to work with children on-site individually and in

groups. I worked with

the middle school for four years. In January of 2005, a colleague

and I went into private

practice where I am Co-Owner of Solutions Counseling and

Wellness Center, LLC. Since

becoming a private practitioner, I have increased my

education in the areas of marriage and

family counseling, mood disorders, anxiety

disorders, and have become a Certified

Grief Recovery® Specialist. I am currently

expanding my experience and

education

in Eating

Disorders.

Prior to obtaining my Masters in Counseling, I had a ten year career in Corporate America

working in the areas of marketing, management and training. I am a native of New Albany,

Indiana, but have lived in various parts of the country and have traveled the country

extensively, as well as traveled to many parts of the world. My travels have broadened my

understanding of the human condition as well as understanding cultural differences and

the common needs that make up the core of all human beings. I am committed to my own

personal growth and enjoy helping others to reach their personal goals.

Credentials

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana. However, the term

"Personal Development Coach” fits my approach to counseling best. I am here to use my

gifts, talents and training in order to coach my clients in using their gifts, talent and training

to reach identified personal goals.

I am also a Certified Grief Recovery® Specialist. I have a great passion for Grief Recovery®

work. I am no stranger to grief, having had my father die as a result of Cancer in May

of 2005 and my cousin, who was like a sister to me, die a month after my father, on

Father's day, in an automobile accident. I have been trained in Grief Recovery® and as

part of my training completed the Grief Recovery® process myself. I am a true believer

first hand in the healing power of the Grief Recovery® programs I am now certified to

offer.

I am a member of the American Association of Mental Health Counselors and

the American Counseling Association.

Specialties

My areas of specialty in which I have had concentrated experience and

education

are;

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in youth and adults, anxiety disorders, mood

disorders, couples, marriage and family counseling, adjustment disorders and

bereavement/grief and loss in which I am a Certified Grief Recovery® Specialist. I am

currently expanding my

education

and experience in Eating Disorders

Mission Statement
